After nearly a month of sending volunteers to Louisiana to help at the
Lamar-Dixon temporary animal shelter and into New Orleans to rescue animals the
Humane Society of Central Oregon continues its efforts to rescue and reunite
people with their pets.
HSCO is following the guidelines set-up for all humane organizations across
the nation to ensure that the original family has the opportunity to locate
their pet. Jazz, one of the hurricane dogs HSCO received has already been
reunited with its New Orleans family.
The hurricane dogs will be placed in ‘foster to adopt’ homes until they
can be permanently placed into a new loving home. All HSCO adoptions policies

The Humane Society of Central Oregon (HSCO) received the following animals
that were rescued from the streets of New Orleans and evacuated from Louisiana.
On October 5th the animals were flown to Portland by Oregon Humane
Society (OHS) and brought to Bend.

reunited with his family in New Orleans on Monday October 17th.
The owners are delighted have their puppy join them in the home they
recently returned to in Uptown New Orleans.
