HSCO Volunteer Program

The Humane Society of Central Oregon (HSCO) is able to provide quality services and programs to the community because of the generous assistance of our dedicated Thrift Store and Animal Shelter volunteers.

We are committed to providing each volunteer a rewarding and productive volunteer experience with our organization. We invite volunteers of all ages to help our shelter and thrift store provide care for the numerous animals in our shelter. Some of the volunteer opportunities have specific age requirements which can be found in the position descriptions.

"I love animals, and by volunteering at HSCO, I can help shelter animals find a new and better life. The HSCO volunteer program offers excellent training opportunities and support so that each volunteer can learn and grow in directions that interest them. All of us, along with the staff, care deeply about each of these wonderful animals and celebrate every adoption." – Katie A.

If you would like to join our team of volunteers, please read the Current Volunteer Needs page and submit the online application. Once your application is received, the Volunteer Department will contact you with the next steps in the application process.

All applicants, age 18 and older, will need to pass a criminal background check that is performed by Verified Volunteers.

The time that you dedicate as a Humane Society of Central Oregon Volunteer will improve the lives of the animals in our community. (If you have court ordered community service hours click here.)
