Foster Trainings

Thank you for your interest in becoming a foster for HSCO! If you haven’t already completed an application, please start on the Foster Program page.

This phase of onboarding includes 3 steps

  1. Watch the Volunteer Orientation video.
  2. Watch at least one Foster Training video.
  3. Complete at least one Review.


Volunteer Orientation

Required for all fosters to complete. Watch the Volunteer Orientation video.


Want to foster felines?

Watch Foster Training: Cats and Kittens, then complete the Review for New Feline Fosters to let the team know your training is done.


Want to foster canines?

Watch Foster Training: Dogs and Puppies, then complete the Review for New Canine Fosters to let the team know your training is done.


Want to foster small animals?

Rabbits, guinea pigs and similar. Watch Foster Training: Small Animals, then complete the Review for New Small Animal Fosters to let the team know your training is done.


Each species training runs about two and a half hours. Start with one species; you can add others later.
